There is no other boat type in which tradition and modernity are so close together as in the Runabout. The Runabout reflects the archetype of the exclusive motor boat, and is now available in different interpretations. The traditional Runabout style is made of wood, and are offered by Boesch, Riva and Pedrazzini. In the last 20 years, more and more boat yards finish the Runabout in plastic. Frauscher, Sea Ray , Chris Craft are a few makers that have and brought these exciting retro products on the market The Runabout was originally designed for short or day trips. Therefore, the Runabout has no cabin, but offers comfortable seating for five people and a large sun deck at the rear. In addition, the traditional Runabout motor boats provide excellent water ski tow boats. Aside from the traditional Runabout and constructive retro models, the term Runabout today is increasingly open, and will vary in its specification. Therefore, it can be that the name Runabout today includes Offshorer, Center Console boats and other recreational engine powered pleasure crafts that had nothing or very little in common with the original elegant and elitist character of the Runabout.
