The secret to Jeanneau's success: a vast wealth of experience

Shipyard history built on passion

The founding of a shipyard follows. 1958: First hull made of polyester fiberglass resin. 1964: "Alizé" – the shipyard's first production sailboat. 1970: The French become a nation of sailors: first production successes with "Love Love" and "Sangria" (2,500 units sold). 1976 Single-handed transatlantic crossing aboard the Jeanneau production boat "Melody". In 1982, the Tour de France à la Voile is sailed exclusively on Jeanneau production boats. 1984 Jeanneau builds the world's largest trimaran, the Fleury Michon. Aboard this boat and its successor models (all by Jeanneau), numerous offshore regattas and records are won and broken. 1990 At the Route du Rhum, the first three racing yachts to finish come from the Jeanneau shipyard halls. 1995 Jeanneau builds two replicas of the trimaran "Pierre 1er" for the US feature film "Waterworld". The Sun Fast series is introduced for the first time. 1995 Takeover by Beneteau 1996 Founding of Jeanneau America 2000 Sun Odyssey yacht range: elegance, comfort, innovation 2008 The Sun Fast 3200 comes onto the market and is immediately named Boat of the Year. 2013 official partner and supplier to the Dongfeng Volvo Ocean Race team. 2014 Jeanneau presents the world's first production boat over 60 feet in length. 2018 A new deck concept: every boat can be walked around on both sides. 2019 The Sun 3300 impresses as a racer-cruiser with outstanding racing qualities, yet is also suited to long-distance cruising.
