How a pedal boat works
Riders pedal just like on a bicycle. On classic models, a paddle wheel between the two hulls drives the boat, while newer pedal boats often use a propeller that runs more smoothly and takes less effort. Steering is done with a small rudder operated by a lever or a steering wheel. Most pedal boats are catamarans made of polyethylene or GRP, unsinkable and very stable against capsizing.
