Since 1958

Sanlorenzo is an Italian shipyard specializing in luxury yachts and superyachts. The company was founded in 1958 by Gianfranco Cecchi and Giuliano Pecchia and has focused on building luxury yachts and superyachts ever since.

The first fiberglass hull

In 1972, Sanlorenzo was taken over by Giovanni Jannetti. In the early 1970s, he embraced the new building trend of the fiberglass hull. In 1985, the company, then still known as Cantieri Navali Sanlorenzo, launched its first fiberglass luxury yacht – the SL57 model.

In 1995, the superyacht era began for Sanlorenzo with the introduction of the SL100 model – one hundred feet of sheer luxury, impressive performance and comfort have shaped the shipyard's philosophy ever since.

Moving forward in great strides

Further milestones for the shipyard: in 1999, Sanlorenzo moved its operations to Ameglia. In 2005, Massimo Perotti acquired the majority of the shares in Cantieri Navali Sanlorenzo Spa. In 2007, the shipyard in Viareggio opened – this is where fiberglass yachts with a length of over 30 meters are built.

In 2010, Sanlorenzo launched the 46Steel, the first trawler superyacht made of steel.
In 2013, the SL118 came onto the market, a yacht that became the flagship of Sanlorenzo's fiberglass range.
In 2016, a research and development center for developing new models opened in Massa.

Since 2019, Sanlorenzo has been listed in the STAR segment of the Milan Stock Exchange.

In July 2020, the Sanlorenzo Group employed around 500 people and works with a network of 1,500 qualified craft businesses and artisans.
