Jeanneau

Jeanneau designs and builds powerboats with unmatched features. At Jeanneau, elegant lines and timeless style meet strong performance along with equipment and comfort thought out down to the last detail.

Much as Jeanneau shaped the world of sailing, the French yard also played its part in the progress of powerboating.

Highlights of a long shipyard history – under power:

  • 1957: Henri Jeanneau builds his first racing powerboat in his father's garage. In his very first race he leads for several laps – the young man is hooked and decides to make watersports his profession.
  • 1958: The newly founded yard builds its first powerboat hull from polyester resin. Weekly output: three boats.
  • 1960: First series production of the "Sea Bird" powerboat.
  • 1980: The Jeanneau yard takes an active part in powerboat racing. The newly designed Jeanneau catamarans perform outstandingly in Formula 1 Inshore and Formula 3.
  • 1981: Jeanneau launches the seaworthy "Cap Camarat". Thanks to its versatility, the boat is regarded as a benchmark for boatbuilding at the time.
  • 1981: Jeanneau takes the first three places in the Nyamey-Bamako Rally, an African endurance event over 2,000 km. Club Mediterrannée orders a fleet of water ski boats from Jeanneau.
  • 1987: Jeanneau cements its international leadership in powerboat racing with new speed world records using a production engine (170.21 km/h) and in 24-hour endurance events.
  • 1989: With the "Prestige", Jeanneau conquers the luxury yacht market. To date, 2,500 boats of this successful model have been built.
  • 2016: Jeanneau has grown into a firm fixture on the market for inboard powerboats.
  • 2017: Jeanneau starts powerboat production in the USA (Cadillac, Michigan).
  • 2017: Jeanneau celebrates 60 years of boatbuilding!
