Sehr schnelles Boot. Mit einem Gewicht von 438kg und 30m2 Segelfläche am Wind (81m2 raumschots) ist das Boot auf allen Kursen meist schneller als der Wind (und alle anderen Einrumpfboote ohne Foils).
Eine Besatzung von 3-4 Personen ist von Vorteil und bei über 3 Bft. sehr empfohlen. Damit ist das Boot geeignet für sportliche Familien oder für ehemalige Jollensegler die nicht mehr in den Neopren steigen möchten.
Wir segeln das Boot bei 2 Bft. meist zu zweit und sind dann sehr schnell.
In Yacht 7/2019 hat Michael Good unser Boot getestet und war begeistert. Viele Videos auf Youtube zeigen was das Boot ausmacht. In den USA gibt es Regattafelder mit bis zu 80 Teilnehmern. In Europa ist mir nur eine weitere E-Scow auf dem Plattensee bekannt die gesegelt wird.
Mit der Zulassung als Regattaboot ist kaum Ausrüstung erforderlich und es dürfen Regattawesten ohne Kragen wie auf Rennjollen getragen werden.
Ein Trockenplatz genügt, das Boot kann mit dem dazu gehörenden Slipwagen gewassert werden.
Wir verkaufen das Boot ungern, aber mit nunmehr doch über 70 Jahren nehmen wir es besser etwas gemütlicher.
Das Boot ist leider wenig gebraucht und deshalb praktisch neuwertig.

Wir verwenden aufgrund der Hafensituation einen Torqueedo Travel 1 kW AB und das Boot ist damit zugelassen. Dieser kann auf Wunsch übernommen werden ebenso wie 4 Schwimmwesten Grösse XS, S, M, L und natürlich die vorgeschriebene Ausrüstung.

Dabei ist ein Slipwagen mit strassentauglichen Rädern, aber ohne Elektrik. Aufgrund des geringen Gewichtes könnte der Slipwagen auch als ungebremster Trailer verwendet werden mit entsprechender Nachrüstung der Beleuchtung.

Der Neupreis für eine E-Scow liegt um 85'000 USD, dazu kommen Transport und Verzollung ca. 8000 CHF.

A very fast boat. Weighing 438 kg and with 30 m² of sail area upwind (81 m² downwind), the boat is usually faster than the wind on all courses (and faster than all other monohulls without foils).
A crew of 3–4 people is advantageous and highly recommended in winds over 3 Bft. This makes the boat suitable for athletic families or for former dinghy sailors who no longer want to put on a wetsuit.
We usually sail the boat in pairs in 2 Bft winds and are very fast then.
In Yacht 7/2019, Michael Good tested our boat and was thrilled. Many videos on YouTube show what makes this boat special. In the U.S., there are regatta fields with up to 80 participants. In Europe, I am aware of only one other E-Scow being sailed on Lake Balaton.
With its certification as a regatta boat, very little equipment is required, and regatta vests without collars—like those worn on racing dinghies—may be worn.
A dry storage spot is sufficient; the boat can be launched using the included trailer.
We are reluctant to sell the boat, but at over 70 years old, we’d rather take it a bit easier.
Unfortunately, the boat has seen little use and is therefore practically brand-new.

Due to the harbor conditions, we use a Torqueedo Travel 1 kW AB, and the boat is certified for this. This can be included upon request, as can 4 life jackets in sizes XS, S, M, L, and of course the required equipment.

Included is a boat trailer with road-legal wheels, but without electrical components. Due to its light weight, the trailer could also be used as an unbraked trailer with the appropriate retrofitting of lighting.

The original price for an E-Scow is around 85,000 USD, plus approximately 8,000 CHF for transport and customs clearance.
