Tetra-Pod nennt sich ein Pkw-Anhänger, der nicht nur gut 500 Kilogramm Zuladung aufnehmen kann und über eine Kippfunktion für Schüttgut verfügt, sondern auch noch schwimmen kann. Erdacht wurde der ungewöhnliche Trailer von zwei Freunden in Kanada, die keine Lust mehr auf mehrere Anhänger für unterschiedliche Aufgaben hatten, denn sie benötigen Platz und werden eher selten genutzt. Ebenso verhält es sich mit Schlauch- und Alubooten. Was lag also näher als der Gedanke, beide miteinander zu verbinden?

Der Tetra-Pod verfügt über eine ausziehbare Deichsel, die das Zuwasserlassen des Bootes erleichtert, hat eine CoC-Bescheinigung für eine problemlose Zulassung und ein CE-Zertifikat nach Sportboot-Richtlinie EU. Hergestellt ist er aus Polyethylen und somit fast unzerstörbar, recycelbar, farbecht und widerstandsfähig.

Da der Tetra-Pod wie ein normaler Kofferraum von hinten geöffnet werden kann, gestaltet sich das Beladen einfach. Geschlossen wird der Trailer nach dem Beladen mittels eines Zuggriffes. Dann werden noch zwei Sicherungsverschlüsse links und rechts verriegelt und bei Bedarf abgeschlossen. Obendrein hat der Trailer eine Kippfunktion eingebaut, die ohne weiteren Um- oder Anbau von Teilen funktioniert.

Als Boot kann der Anhänger mit einem maximal 7,5 kW / 10,2 PS starken Außenborder betrieben werden. Für den Einsatz auf dem Wasser ist das Boot rasch vorbereitet. Dazu wird die Deichsel herausgezogen, der Deckel des Anhängers nach vorne geklappt und per Sicherungsstift mit der „Ladefläche“ verbunden. Dann wird noch der Haltebolzen entfernt, der die Konstruktion auf dem Chassis verankert und schon kann das 3,30 Meter lange und bis zu 1,38 Meter breite Boot geslippt werden. Es soll quasi unsinkbar sein und kann im Wasser mit 372 Kilogramm beladen werden.

Auf Wunsch kann zusätzlich ein Elektromotor Torqueedo CL1100 dazugekauft werden. Dieser ist aber im Verkaufspreis nicht inbegriffen und kostet CHF 1700.-

Tetra-Pod is the name of a car trailer that can not only carry a good 500 kilograms of payload and has a tipping function for bulk goods, but can also float. The unusual trailer was the brainchild of two friends in Canada who were tired of having several trailers for different tasks, as they take up space and are rarely used. The same applies to inflatable and aluminum boats. So what could be more obvious than the idea of combining the two?

The Tetra-Pod has an extendable drawbar, which makes it easier to lower the boat into the water, has a CoC certificate for easy registration and a CE certificate in accordance with the EU Recreational Craft Directive. It is made of polyethylene and is therefore almost indestructible, recyclable, color-fast and durable.

As the Tetra-Pod can be opened from the rear like a normal trunk, loading is easy. After loading, the trailer is closed using a pull handle. Two safety catches on the left and right are then locked and, if necessary, closed. On top of this, the trailer has a built-in tipping function that works without any further conversion or attachment of parts.

The trailer can be operated as a boat with a maximum 7.5 kW / 10.2 hp outboard motor. The boat is quickly prepared for use on the water. To do this, the drawbar is pulled out, the cover of the trailer is folded forward and connected to the "loading area" with a safety pin. The retaining pin that anchors the structure to the chassis is then removed and the 3.30 meter long and up to 1.38 meter wide boat can be slipped in. It is said to be virtually unsinkable and can be loaded with 372 kilograms in the water.

A Torqueedo CL1100 electric motor can also be purchased on request. However, this is not included in the sales price and costs CHF 1700.
